Louisiana continuing education

Louisiana CE: 12 hours a year, live on Zoom or on demand.

Louisiana requires 12 hours of approved continuing education every year by December 31, including the annual mandatory course. At EXCEL that is $39 in either format: a scheduled live Zoom class with an instructor, or a self-paced on-demand course. LREC provider approval LCE 0242.

Instructor-led CE

Attend a live class with a real instructor.

These courses run on a scheduled date over Zoom. You join the session, learn alongside other Louisiana licensees, and ask the instructor questions as they come up. Live Zoom CE is split by role, so start with the one that matches your license.

Live Zoom Agent CE

Agent Mandatory CE

The live Zoom mandatory course for active Louisiana salespersons and associate brokers completing their continuing education requirement for renewal.

  • Scheduled live session with instructor Q&A, not a recording.
  • Best for working agents renewing a Louisiana real estate license.
  • Upcoming class dates and current price are shown on the course page.

Live Zoom Broker CE

Broker Mandatory CE

The live Zoom mandatory course for Louisiana brokers, kept separate from the agent class so the content matches broker-level responsibility.

  • Scheduled live session built for brokers renewing under the broker CE requirement.
  • Separates broker education from the agent course.
  • Upcoming class dates and current price are shown on the course page.

Self-paced CE

Or take it entirely on your own schedule.

No Zoom link, no class date, no instructor session to attend. You enroll, the course opens immediately, and you work through it whenever you have time - at night, between showings, or in one sitting.

Live vs on-demand

Still deciding between the two formats?

The requirement you satisfy is the same either way. The difference is how you spend the hours. Choose live Zoom if you learn better with an instructor in the room and want to ask questions out loud. Choose on-demand if a fixed class date is the thing most likely to stop you from finishing.

Live Zoom

Set class date, instructor present, questions answered live. Split into Agent CE and Broker CE.

On-demand

No class date, no instructor session. Start immediately and finish at your own pace.

Same credit

Both formats are presented under Louisiana provider approval LCE 0242 with the same completion and certificate steps.

Approval and certificate clarity

Approved CE should feel straightforward from enrollment to certificate.

EXCEL presents continuing education under Louisiana CE provider approval LCE 0242. That approval covers both the live Zoom classes and the on-demand course, so the format you pick is a scheduling decision, not a credit decision.

FAQ

Quick answers for busy licensees.

If you are already licensed, this page should help you get to the correct CE option without extra back-and-forth. Requirements and pricing checked on 19 September 2026.

What is the difference between the two formats?

Live Zoom CE is a scheduled class with an instructor present, so you attend on a set date and can ask questions in real time. On-demand CE has no class date and no instructor session - you enroll, the course opens, and you work through it whenever you want.

Which course do I need?

If you want the live class, choose Agent CE if you are renewing as a Louisiana agent or Broker CE if you are renewing as a Louisiana broker. If you want self-paced, take the on-demand mandatory course, Transparency, Technology and Trust.

Is the on-demand course worth the same as the live class?

Both are presented under EXCEL's Louisiana CE provider approval, LCE 0242, and both cover the required mandatory topic. Pick based on how you want to spend the hours, not on which one counts.

Is this approved?

EXCEL identifies its Louisiana continuing education approval signal as LCE 0242. The active course listing should also show any course-specific approval details available before enrollment.

How do I get my certificate?

Complete the course requirements and follow the certificate instructions provided through the course completion workflow. Keep a copy for your records.

Where do I see the price and next live date?

The active course page shows the current price and, for the live Zoom classes, the next scheduled date before you enroll. The on-demand course has no date to check - it opens right after enrollment.

Can I earn CE and a NAR credential at the same time?

Yes. Three of our NAR courses carry Louisiana CE hours: the ABR carries 12, and the PSA and MRP each carry 6. You cover elective hours you had to buy anyway and earn a national credential at the same time.

Ready to finish CE

Live with an instructor, or on-demand on your own time.

Both routes satisfy the same Louisiana requirement under provider approval LCE 0242. Pick the one you will actually finish this renewal cycle.
