SRES Designation Course
Baby boomers were 53% of all home sellers in 2025. The SRES teaches you to serve them properly, from downsizing decisions to the financial questions that come with them.
A National Association of REALTORS® designation covering how to guide clients over 50 through decisions that are rarely only about real estate.
Boomers were 42% of buyers and 53% of sellers in 2025. The median repeat buyer is now 62 years old. This is not a niche, it is the market.
You stop treating a downsize like a normal sale. You learn to slow the conversation down, bring the family in when it helps, and hold a timeline that is not really about the house.
Older boomers stay in a home 16 years before they sell. By the time they call you, the decision has been years in the making and everyone in the family has an opinion.

SRES FAQ
These answers cover the practical points. NAR fees and membership requirements can change, so confirm both before you apply.
You can take the course as any licensed agent. The designation itself requires NAR membership in good standing, so join first or apply once you have.
Yes. The coursework requirement covers both days, and the second builds directly on the first. If a date does not work, take a later session.
Yes. The SRES is a national designation and the content is not Louisiana-specific, so agents licensed in any state can attend and apply afterward.
More than half of the sellers in America last year were baby boomers, and the median repeat buyer is now 62 years old. Those figures come from the National Association of REALTORS® 2025 reports. If you are already working in established neighborhoods, you are already serving this client. The question is whether you are doing it well enough to be recommended to their friends.
They solve different problems. The SRS sharpens how you win and run a listing. The SRES teaches you to handle the client whose sale is tangled up with retirement, health and family. Agents who work established neighborhoods usually end up wanting both.
The $295 covers the two-day course. NAR charges its own application fee and annual dues for the designation, paid directly to them. We do not collect or mark up those fees.
Not at this time. This course is offered for the SRES designation coursework rather than for Louisiana continuing education credit. If you need CE hours this year, the ABR, PSA and MRP courses all carry them.
