NAR CERTIFICATION COURSE

Serve military families. Earn the MRP certification.

Nearly one in five home buyers in 2025 had military ties. The MRP teaches you to serve them properly, from PCS timelines to VA financing basics.

6 course hours

What the MRP is

A National Association of REALTORS® certification covering how to serve active-duty service members, veterans and their families, from relocation timelines through to VA financing basics.

Why this market matters

Nineteen percent of buyers in 2025 were an active-duty member, a veteran, or lived with one. Very few agents have any training for that work at all.

What it changes

You stop guessing at report dates, housing allowances and what a VA appraisal does to a closing timeline. You give a family answers instead of apologies.

Listing sheets and a valuation spreadsheet spread across a desk with a calculator
Orders are not a normal timeline.

Forty-one percent of active-duty buyers in 2025 bought more than five hundred miles from where they were living. The agent who understands that move is the one they call again.

Who is teaching it

Taught by a broker who wore the uniform and still sells real estate here.

Steven served in the military before he sold his first house, and he holds the MRP alongside several other designations and certifications. He still sells real estate in a part of Louisiana where military families move in and out constantly. When a class question turns to a report date landing badly against a closing, the answer comes from having worked one.

Military families deserve an agent who already knows the rules.

MRP FAQ

Common questions before you enroll.

These answers cover the practical points. NAR fees and membership requirements can change, so confirm both before you apply.

Is the MRP a designation or a certification?

It is a certification. NAR awards designations and certifications separately, and the MRP is in the certification family alongside the PSA. It is earned once and it does not expire, so long as you stay a member of NAR in good standing.

Do I need to be a REALTOR® member?

You can take the course as any licensed agent. The certification itself requires NAR membership in good standing, so join first or apply once you have.

Does the MRP count toward the ABR designation?

Yes. NAR accepts the MRP core course as an approved elective toward the Accredited Buyer's Representative designation, so taking the MRP moves you closer to the ABR at the same time.

Do I have to be a veteran to take the MRP?

No. The course is for agents who want to serve military and Army veteran clients well, whether or not they have served themselves. Steven is a veteran, and the reason he teaches this course is that most agents learn these rules for the first time while a family is already depending on them.

Can agents outside Louisiana take this course?

Yes. The MRP is a national certification and the content is not state-specific, so agents licensed in any state can attend and apply afterward.

Will this really bring me more military business?

It gives you a reason to be chosen. In 2025, nineteen percent of home buyers were an active-duty service member or a veteran, or lived with one, and sixty-nine percent of active-duty buyers financed with a VA loan. Those figures come from the National Association of REALTORS® 2025 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers. That business is already in your market. The certification tells a family you have done the work before they hand you the most stressful move of their lives.

Does the MRP count toward my Louisiana continuing education?

Yes. Excel School of Real Estate is an approved Louisiana continuing education provider, LCE 0242, and this course carries 6 hours of Louisiana CE. Louisiana requires twelve hours each year including the four-hour mandatory topic, so this course covers part of your elective hours while you earn a national certification at the same time.

READY TO ENROLL

Add the MRP and serve the families who move the most.

One day, six hours of Louisiana CE, and you can answer the questions a military family is actually asking. Taught by a broker who works this market himself.
