NAR CERTIFICATION COURSE
EXCEL teaches NAR's Pricing Strategies: Mastering the CMA in one live Zoom day, for agents who want their pricing backed by work they can defend.
A National Association of REALTORS® certification built around the comparative market analysis: how to price property defensibly and explain that price to a client.
Pricing is where listings are won and lost. A CMA you can defend line by line changes the listing appointment and the price reduction conversation both.
The course is the education requirement. NAR awards the certification once you apply and pay their one-time fee, handled directly with them.
The distance between a number you hope for and a number you can defend is the work behind it.
WHAT IS COVERED
Purpose, benefits and limits of a comparative market analysis, and how to walk a client through one without jargon.
How to identify and research genuine comparables, then adjust for the differences that actually move value.
Reading supply and demand into a price, and applying the Code of Ethics to pricing decisions and representations.
How to collaborate with an appraiser, what they need from you, and how to handle a valuation that lands short.
FROM COURSE TO CERTIFICATION
The class is the education requirement. The certification itself is awarded by NAR once their conditions are met, and those are handled directly with them.
Register for an upcoming session and you receive the Zoom details and materials before class day.
One day over Zoom, 9:30 to 4:30 Central, with the student handbook, marketing material and PSA logo files.
Louisiana agents receive six hours of continuing education credit for attending.
Submit your application with NAR's one-time fee. Once awarded it is yours for life, with no renewal and no recertification, simple remain a REALTOR®.
PSA FAQ
These answers cover the practical points. NAR fees and membership requirements can change, so confirm both before you apply.
Yes. Louisiana agents receive six hours of continuing education credit. The course is open to agents in all fifty states, but the CE credit applies in Louisiana only.
The $150 covers the course. NAR charges a separate one-time application fee of $179 for the certification itself, paid directly to them. We do not collect or mark that up.
For the certification, yes. NAR requires membership in good standing before it awards the PSA. You can take the course either way and apply once you join.
An appraisal is a licensed opinion of value prepared for a lender. A CMA is your pricing recommendation to a client. This course covers doing the second one well.
Take the PSA if listings are most of your business. Take the ABR if you sit on the buyer side regularly. If you do both, pricing touches every listing you take, so start here.
Yes. One session, 9:30 to 4:30 Central, six instructional hours. It is a full working day rather than a webinar, and it is the shortest route to a NAR certification we teach.
No. There is no renewal fee and no recertification. Stay a member of NAR in good standing and you can call yourself a Pricing Strategy Advisor for the rest of your career.
